Finding One's Way to Thanksgiving Happiness and Health
Perhaps you have noticed that there are times when you feel better than others. I have witnessed this phenomenon many times in my life, riding the wave of emotion. Why are we up and then down and back again? Is there no Peace? I am here to share one of the greatest lessons that I have learned in balancing out the dramatic waves of the consciousness. Thankfulness, Thankfulness, Thankfulness, enjoy the tranquility and expansiveness of joy, watch the thoughts, if thankfulness is forgotten, remember, remember, remember, Happiness is an attitude, and the gatekeeper is Thankfulness. It may seem simple enough. Be grateful no matter what life may bring your way. Every situation is different though, some are to our liking, and some are distasteful for us. What to do? What to do? Train the mind to have a strong will. Practice concentration. Concentrate on your goal. Concentrate on Happiness. Humble yourself to Thanksgiving, not the materialism of the holiday, the spirit of sharing gratitude for salvation. Salvation from what?
The pilgrims were saved from starvation and disease because of the Native American's kindness and knowledge of how to survive in the strange land of North America. Knowledge received from a cultural understanding and lifestyle that held gratitude to nature and the cycle of life in the highest esteem, reverence to the Great Spirit as a way of life. The pilgrims found happiness and health through a connection to the Divine that might have been strange to them in name and custom, but it was definitely God that saved them through the Native American's kindness. An attitude of Thankfulness allowed the pilgrims to learn from the Native Americans how they could sustain Health and Happiness in the sometimes harsh environment that they had found themselves in.
We are invited to do the same, my friend. Who are your strange and gracious teachers? They might not look like us or what we are familiar with, but we never grow into sustainable Health and Happiness if we stay stuck in the same old habits that do not work. Let us grow beyond our misery and embrace Thanksgiving in those circumstance in which we find discomfort. Not subjecting oneself to violence and torture, step away from abusive circumstances, take a rest and relax if need be, find help if the situation is out of hand, but we do not want fear to overcome us. Allow Thankfulness to open the language of Love within that will guide you to to sustainable Health and Happiness, rest in God's loving embrace :-)
It seems simple, but if you are weighed down by worry and a lack of confidence, where to start? This was me most of the time six years ago, and now it is only me some of the time. Taking up a practice in quiet, remembering Thankfully family, friends, the breath, food, shelter, etc. whatever it would be for you at any given day is a good way to start. Listening to tranquil music can help too. Try and see if you can find a space where you will be undisturbed for as long as possible, and as long as you feel comfortable. You might also listen to positive affirmations. With enough repetition of positive phrases said aloud or in the might, the negative habitual nature begins to melt away. Spending time in direct prayer to God is very helpful as well, at first find a name and face that you feel the most comfortable with. After some time in practicing Thanksgiving, you will realize, just like the Pilgrims, God works trough many forms :-)
Thank you God, Peace, Thanksgiving, Pilgrims, Native Americans, and the traditions that were left to us so that we might always remember and Live the sacred practice of Thanksgiving :-) Have a wonderful day, my friend! Thank you so much for joining me, for being wonderful you! I hope that you enjoyed “Thank You Peace :-) For Thanksgiving :-)” May all beings humble themselves to the gatekeeper of Health and Happiness, Thankfulness, that we might always be blessed :-) Love, Aaron :-)
