Yoga introduce the concept of balancing relaxation and other compassionate qualities with the qualities that help us to concentrate, preserve, have patience, and be honest with ourselves. This is very helpful! However, I find that even studying and practicing yoga in a formal way, learning from a set of teachings can become a bit dry at times. I believe this is part of the learning process for yoga and life in general, we benefit ourselves more so as we learn when to be more dedicated to formal learning, and when we need a break, to be free inside our own imagination and creativity, to feel OK with the only goal being celebration and enjoyment. I have learned that this has a the great benefit of releasing anything that has become stuck into a more energetic form with the potential of bringing more vigor and passion into our practice! I believe dealing with this excited energy for a positive goal has allot to do with how I integrate the other qualities back into my life at a deeper level. Before we move back into that, referring to the previous “Thank You Life!” entries lets enjoy this one, and let it do its thing! “Thank You Life! For Celebration!”
Gratitude Practice for Celebration!
Celebrate yourself! Love yourself! Appreciate yourself! Do whatever it is that you do to feel good about yourself as long as it is not harmful to yourself or others!
Here are some ways that I celebrate myself:
- I listen to a song that makes me smile!
- I watch a show that makes me smile!
- I drink something that is refreshing!
- I eat something that is yummy!
- I spend time with someone that makes me smile!
- I practice something that reminds me how great life can be!
- I travel to someplace new, interesting, and fun!
- I spend a little extra money on something enjoyable!
- Find courage to do what you enjoy doing like singing for example! I always enjoy singing more when I am in the moment, not thinking about what qualifies “good” or “bad” singing.
Please celebrate, love, enjoy, but also be safe my friend! Love, joy, happiness, and health to you now and always! May we all find celebration alongside a healthy life sustaining practice! “Thank You Life! For Celebration!” Love, Aaron :-)
