A leap of faith is needed to acquire the greatest of treasures.
Joy will be granted to those that have courage admist the dark storms that cloud the heart.
None of what I witnessed and experienced during my wonderful holiday in Poland would have happened if it was not for an inner fortitude against the fears that can so easily take one out of the present moment. The darkness of “the plane will crash, there will be a terrorist attack, you will get some strange disease, you will get lost, your luggage will be lost, it is too expensive, you do not earn enough to take a vacation,” and so on and so forth. There were many fears that came into my mind, and many fears that others expressed to me about the trip. Fortunately I have several practices in place to help me deal with fear. There is my...
- religion,
- yoga,
- affirmations,
- the habit of acknowledging and moving toward positive feelings,
- the habit of trying my best to push beyond my fears, etc.
- most importantly: INENTION
This adventure to Poland was a long time coming for me. You could even say that I meditated upon it for many years, months, days or fixed my INTENTION on it....
- I would do my best to consistently do things that were in line with leaving on this trip,
- whether they were a simple thought to myself that confirmed that I would be traveling to Poland,
- a message to my friend saying that it will be nice to finally meet,
- or more active steps like looking at prices for flights,
- and getting things that I would need together for the trip.
This did not happen overnight for me, the courage to travel to another country, and stay with someone I met over the internet. It took a lot of work both in mentally fortifying myself and physically finding then preparing resources. However...
I AM SO VERY GLAD I MOVED FORWARD! It feels like so many things in my life have began to move forward as a result. I am much less afraid to put forth the effort, time, and resources needed to venture out into the world and live life, because I am reminded by this joyous experience with my friend in Poland that it is possible to have more health and happiness in life with an offering of commitment and presence on the part of the one who desires it. Pursuing my dream has opened up the door for more possibilities, and, for me, has confirmed some essential ingredients that are needed...
- commitment to doing the work or practice,
- one's intention on a dream or goal,
- presence moment to moment
- noticing when one's actions and thoughts are in line with that dream or opposed,
- being more present can help one see when they might be being deceived as well
- do not be afraid to wait for a better opportunity if it seems like there is deception at work
- follow your heart but listen to your common sense
- I have always heard “When it seems too good to be true it probably is.”
- do not be afraid to wait for a better opportunity if it seems like there is deception at work
- noticing when one's actions and thoughts are in line with that dream or opposed,
- and practices to help guide one back to pursuit of that dream when one might drift away.
I hope this observation of pursuing dreams or goals in my own life has offered some insights into how you might do the same in your own life, my friend. I would like to share some of the wonderful experiences that I received in Poland, some of the wonderful gifts that were given to me as a result of pursuing my dreams. Please stay tuned for the next “Thank You Poland!” or “Dziekuje Polsce!”
Thank you for taking time to read this article, my friend! May your days be filled with the courage to pursue what you love, and practices that support you along your way! Blessing, Peace, and Love to you now and always! Or Blogoslawienstwo, Pokoj I Milosc dla ciebie terazi I zawsze! Love, Aaron :-)
